“The Traveling Twenties”

(AKA Random Acts of Kindness)
“The Beginning…”

It started one day with an eye-opening realization. Not everyone had enough to eat or a friend or smile or heat or even a place to lay their head at night. Everyone was different. Everyone was in need and some were in need more than others. Twenties found their way into some very interesting adventures when they were put into the hands of those who cared but were unable to do. Those people then put twenties into the hands of those who saw but didn’t have twenties to give.  When hearts say help and God says move, adventures are soon to follow!!!

20-wings ADVENTURE # 1 Traveling down the road we all see a lot of need in people walking from place to place in a world that moves at speeds faster than legs and bikes can go. Two men were struggling against the cool wind. One was carrying a ukulele, which caught our eye. Both long-haired hippies,(ask someone in their 60’s) which probably caused some to turn their heads away but drew us to their need. We were not going in the same direction. We could not offer a ride, a break from the wind but one of the twenties would go with them and maybe offer a warm cup of coffee and some meals.  And maybe, just maybe when we turned to come back we would see the musicians and pick them up for a talk or song or rest from the wind.

WATCH FOR ADVENTURE #2 coming next week!

ASF is planning a trip to Sus Hijos in El Salvador for February 7-14.  We will be building at least one house, visiting the orphanages and children’s prisons and will be feeding the homeless, to name a few of the things that we will do.
We are looking for volunteers to go with us and help us with this ministry.  We don’t have the cost as of yet but it will be around $1000.  It depends on how many people are going and how many houses we want to build.
If you are interested, please contact Barbara Tape……barbara@digitalpark.com…….If you feel led to go with us and do not have the funds there will be some scholarship money available to help out.
More details will follow as our plans progress.

Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions For Kids by Sarah Young

51pw89cmekl-_sx331_bo1204203200_Devotions written as if Jesus is speaking directly to a child’s heart.

Based on her original Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives.

After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed He was saying to her through Scripture. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her devotionals.  They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling.  It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers, and now young readers, with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.  Available at Amazon.

My son, Chris McCaslin is suffering from a major back injury and will have an injection procedure for two herniated disks.  Please pray that this will bring him relief and wellness from the pain.  Please pray for Chris McCaslin in Little Rock, Arkansas!  The procedure is at 7:00 a.m. Friday.
In addition, They are having snow in Little Rock too! Pray for his safety to and from the hospital.
Thank you to all our believers.

Please put John Allen, brother of Jeff Allen, on your prayer list. He was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will be traveling to Madison, Wisconsin for radiation treatment. Also, remember Tom Cummings, who has been diagnosed with melanoma.

Please pray for Jimmy Brown – he is the father of my great friends that attend ASF – Gloria and Shawn Buice.  He was down for the holidays and had some health complications and had to be hospitalized.  It looks like he will be here for a longer period.  He is a diabetic and that always complicates everything.  We are praying for a full recovery.
