No pictures of the Baptism last Sunday so far, but that didn’t stop it being a beautiful one.
Ronnie baptized 10 people, five from ASF and 5 Hispanics from the Good News Spanish Church! What a wonderful, blessed occasion! If you have any photos to share, please send them so they can be posted.
“The Traveling Twenties”
(AKA Random Acts of Kindness)
It started one day with an eye-opening realization. Not everyone had enough to eat or a friend or smile or heat or even a place to lay their head at night. Everyone was different. Everyone was in need and some were in need more than others. Twenties found their way into some very interesting adventures when they were put into the hands of those who cared but were unable to do. Those people then put twenties into the hands of those who saw but didn’t have twenties to give. When hearts say help and God says move, adventures are soon to follow!!!
Adventure #9: A Different Reality
Often those on the street are there because their minds are in a place that is different from ours. We closed down places to help people who may need extra kindness and medicine to keep them here in the present day. These are not people to be afraid of but to realize their reality is very different from ours. We as a country have chosen to let them wander and so they do.
A gentleman on the bridge in Shalimar caught our attention. He had 2 buggy/carts. That was not what made us take a second look. It was the way he moved the carts. He had an interesting order to the way he walked. He kind of took 4 steps with one, left it ahead and went back for the other one and moved it ahead of the first for about the same amount. He then would stop that one and get the one left behind and bring it up past the other. Like a hop scotch or frog jumping over his belongings always returning for those left behind but never moving both together as we might have, his earthly possessions filling each cart.
We approached and greeted him. He was very cordial and introduced himself. He explained he was the inventor of the “B2 Stealth Bomber and the Neutron Bomb.” He accepted the twenty offered but with the condition we keep in touch. He explained that he was waiting for a call from the government any day now as they were going to pay him $100 Billion a week starting soon. We said that was great but we really didn’t need the twenty back. It was for him. We thanked him and went on and left the twenty with our friend from a different reality.

Seasons of Caring: Meditations for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregivers by ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s
Having a husband with Alzheimer’s, this book has become very important to me as his caretaker.
Offering the gifts of hope, encouragement, compassion and empathy to those on the difficult journey of caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Seasons of Caring is primarily intended for the much-needed comfort and support of caregivers. The book is organized around themes and metaphors of seasonal transition, with each of the four seasons paralleling the various stages of life. The 141 entries open with quotes from scripture, sacred text or other inspirational text. The original writings by seventy-two authors representing a great diversity of spiritual traditions range from thoughtful meditations to poignant personal stories, moving poems and meaningful songs. Each is followed by a prayer and words of comfort and encouragement.
The book is a product of the ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s Network, an interfaith national network of clergy, laity, and faith organizations working to focus attention on improved treatment, better care and a cure for dementia. It’s also an educational tool for support groups and advocates. Inspiring and uplifting, Seasons of Caring champions the dignity of all those with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and is a powerful resource in raising awareness about this disease and helping to remove its stigma.
ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s is a network of USAgainstAlzheimer’s.

I would like to thank the people of A Simple Faith who sent cards, gave me hugs and lifted my sister and I up in prayer during this difficult week. Even though I am fairly new to this church I am overwhelmed by the strong feeling of being part of a loving, caring family. My sweet sister Beth is fully restored and at peace with her Savior, and that gives me such comfort.
Please put my very good friend Jay and her husband for strength on our prayer list for God to look over her and bless both of them with healing. She found out today she has throat cancer. Still awaiting one more test to see if it has moved to other glands to see if she will elect surgery or treatments. She’s a great lady and does so much for so many, and never complains. She fought breast cancer and won, please pray she will concur and win once again.
